Highlanders Hidden Gem

How many of you have seen the old Highlander movie? If you haven’t seen it, I highly suggest you watch it; you can probably rent it or find it on a stream. It is such a giant shit fest. The original Highlander is probably one of the worst movies ever made. If the original Highlander were a dude, it would probably be into penis. It’s just awful, but somehow still watchable in that so‑bad‑it’s‑good way.

Connors Alpha Line

However, as awful as this movie was, I did manage to pull a gem from it. After ingesting the red pill I have this tendency to analyze fictional characters and place them on the sociosexual hierarchy. Naturally, as I’m watching Highlander, I’m analyzing main man Conner Macleod. I’d label him more sigma, but there was this one scene. Conner meets the love interest and decides to ask her out with a simple line: “Do you cook?”

Flipping The Script

Conner straight up tells her she’s going to cook him dinner. This is a solid neg and great date‑asking skill all in one beautifully alpha line. It’s a great example of a beta‑switch, taking a typical dinner date and telling her she’s going to cook it. This is such a great way to ask a girl out on a first date. You assume right away that she can cook, and if she can’t, she feels she’s lost value, which is a built‑in DHV for you.

Direct Game Advantage

Using this line flips the script and gets a girl chasing you instead of the other way around. When she makes you the prize, the planets feel aligned and she’s pulled back toward her femininity because classic gender roles are suddenly on the table again. The directness helps; there’s a point where you go nuclear with direct game and it actually starts to work for you. You can even use this line verbatim; almost no girl alive has seen the original Highlander, so it lands fresh every time.
